Presentation:
The Pharmacy Service of Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital aims to promote comprehensive and efficient pharmacotherapy to patients in the hospital and its area of influence, with criteria for continuous quality improvement, participation of all professionals, applying evidence-based medicine and acting according to pharmaceutical care practice to improve patient health and related teaching and research aspects.
Reorient pharmaceutical care towards a comprehensive treatment and management of the patient that guarantees the safe and effective use of medicines, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and at the same time empowering and making the patient co-responsible for their treatment.

- Centralization of dangerous drug preparations in the Drug Handling Area of the Pharmacy Service.
- Integration of the pharmacist in specific areas: critical patient process, emergency medicine, surgical area, solid organ transplantation, paediatrics, infectious diseases, etc.
- Pharmaceutical care program for external patients according to therapeutic area and coordinated with the different medical specialties (such as the unit for infectious diseases, neurology, pulmonology, dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, ...)
- Research on health outcomes of medicines used in the centre
